Serving as a focused platform, the forum spotlighted emerging green transition trends and provided in-depth analysis of the opportunities and challenges encountered by businesses on the path to sustainability. It also conveyed a strong call to action, equipping the Southern business community with practical solutions to collectively advance toward a greener future.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Trần Long – Deputy CEO of BIDV – highlighted the bank’s strong commitment to green transformation: “As a state-owned commercial bank at the forefront of sustainable finance, BIDV is not only delivering green financial products and preferential support packages, but also actively expanding partnerships with international organizations, technology providers, and ESG experts. Our goal is to build a comprehensive support ecosystem that empowers businesses to pursue effective and sustainable green transformation.”

BIDV reaffirmed its strategic focus on green economic activities, while supporting businesses in developing their ESG roadmaps through a wide range of green credit products, advisory services, digital platforms, and connections to a multi-sector partner ecosystem.
At the forum, the speakers and experts offered diverse perspectives and comprehensive solutions, enriching the discussion on green transition and sustainable development.
FiinRatings – S&P Global’s strategic partner and the only institution in Vietnam accredited by the Climate Bonds Initiative (CBI) to certify green bonds – provided in-depth insights into international sustainability standards and the growing role of credit ratings in facilitating access to green capital.
Vinamilk – one of Vietnam’s pioneering ESG leaders – shared practical experiences and key lessons learned from its sustainability journey, offering meaningful inspiration to empower the business community to confidently embrace green transformation.
FPT introduced a digital platform designed to support enterprises in the inventory, measurement, and reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions - VertZéro. The tool enables companies to produce international-standard reports aligned with frameworks such as the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF). Meeting PCAF standards requires not only full-scoped emissions accounting but also strong data governance to ensure transparency, consistency, and verifiability.
As part of a joint initiative, BIDV and FPT are offering VertZéro free of charge for a limited period to all BIDV corporate clients, with continued discounts of up to 25% thereafter.

The successful forum in Ho Chi Minh City marked the conclusion of BIDV’s nationwide workshop series and reflected the growing momentum and interest of the business community in green transition and sustainable development.
Looking ahead, BIDV will continue to deepen its engagement with the business sector and foster multilateral cooperation to drive comprehensive green growth—thereby making a tangible contribution to Vietnam’s national sustainable development goals.

In alignment with its 'Green Bank' strategy, BIDV has developed and adopted internationally aligned sustainable finance frameworks, including a Sustainable Loan Framework, Green Bond Framework, and Sustainability Bond Framework – all rated SQS2 (Very Good) by Moody’s. As a pioneer in sustainable finance, BIDV has proactively introduced a wide range of green finance products including green loans, sustainability-linked loans, green bonds, sustainability bonds, and green deposits – all designed to support clients in understanding, adopting, and implementing ESG practices.
Beyond its role as a financial institution, BIDV serves as a connector—linking Vietnamese enterprises with international funding and technical support through co-financing programs, ODA mobilization, ESG bond issuance advisory, and capacity-building initiatives.The bank has established partnerships with major global financial institutions, notably securing a EUR 50 million climate credit line from the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) to support climate action and sustainable development projects. As a strategic partner of the World Bank, ADB, JICA, JBIC, and others, BIDV currently leads the Vietnamese market in ODA and entrusted capital mobilization, holding a 21% market share.
BIDV has also forged financing partnerships with nearly 50 international financial institutions, securing a total available credit limit of up to USD 4 billion. In parallel, the bank offers ESG consulting services and facilitates connections between businesses and technology solution providers, as well as accredited verification bodies, ensuring independent validation of ESG-related KPIs and sustainability performance.
As of December 31, 2024, BIDV’s outstanding green credit balance reached VND 80.87 trillion. The bank has successfully issued two batches of green and sustainability bonds totaling VND 5.5 trillion. As for green deposits, by May 31, 2025, BIDV had mobilized nearly VND 8.5 trillion across two offerings – further underscoring its strong commitment to channeling financial resources toward green growth.
