On 26/05/2011, in Hanoi, the Bank for Investment and Development of Cambodia (BIDC) officially opened and operated Hanoi Branch (Hanoi BIDC) at No. 10A, Hai Ba Trung, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi. Hanoi BIDC was established under the Business license No. 88/GP-NHNN, dated 22/04/2011 with the charter capital of USD 15 million.

 

 

To meet the diverse needs of customers, Hanoi BIDC are equipped with software Core-banking T24 of Temenos. This is one of the most modern core banking software, fully integrated with operation subsystems, helps the branches to provide the modern banking services to customers, such as: electronic payment, issuance and credit card payment, remittance payment attached to the financing operations of the Branch; Internet Banking ... In addition, Hanoi BIDC will provide the services such as investment consultancy, implement the storage, preservation and management services for valuable papers and other services when the State Bank of Vietnam allows.

BIDC was established on 01/9/2009 on the basis of acquisition and comprehensively restructuring the Prosperity Investment Bank of Cambodia (PIBank). BIDC is a legal entity of independent bank 100% owned by the State of Vietnam, in which the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) plays a key and decisive role.

BIDC was established as a bridge to economy, trade between the Cambodian and Vietnamese investors, especially the connection, promoting the development of Vietnam's financial market with financial markets in Cambodia. Some areas are encouraged to invest by the Cambodian Government such as food processing, fertilizer production, industrial plants, telecommunications, petroleum, mineral mining, hydropower...., in which many Vietnamese investors take interest, will be considered and arranged financing by BIDC as well as provide the banking services in a best way.

After nearly two years of operation, BIDC has affirmed its important role in meeting the needs for financial, money, payment services of the business community, population classes of Vietnam and Cambodia. BIDC has financed, especially capital medium-and long-term investment needs of corporations, state corporations, business investment in Vietnam to Cambodia and Cambodian businesses. In considering in the national aspect, the establishment of financial and banking system in Cambodia is the first step, necessary for Vietnam to realize the business opportunities in Cambodian market.

Up to now, BIDC with its headquarters in Phnom Penh (Cambodia), has developed four branches in Ho Chi Minh City, Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Hanoi, and become a solid bridge connecting financial markets, Banks of Vietnam - Cambodia. The growth in both width and depth of BIDC promises new successes in the market. With its prestige and experience for many years in the securities market of Vietnam of BIDV, BIDC was also licensed by Cambodia Securities Commission to act as the payment Bank for securities market in Cambodia.
