In late May 2025, in Indonesia, The Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) was honored with the “Best Custodian Bank in Vietnam 2025” Award by The Asian Banker, reaffirming its leadership in securities services. This marks BIDV’s fifth consecutive win since 2021—making it the first Vietnamese bank to receive and maintain this recognition, a testament to the Bank’s outstanding capabilities in securities custody and supervision services.

The award, under The Asian Banker’s Financial Market category, recognizes leading position in securities services that BIDV has diligently established over 25 years of Vietnam’s market development. BIDV outperformed over 200 leading financial institutions across the Asia-Pacific region, through a rigorous evaluation process conducted by a panel of international experts which evaluated a comprehensive group of criteria including operational efficiency, technology infrastructure, service quality, and risk management capabilities. Client’s satisfaction and asset safety remain the core values and strategic pillars of BIDV’s service. The Asian Banker’s consecutive recognition reflects BIDV’s unwavering commitment to safety, transparency, and innovation in serving clients.

The year 2025 is a turning point for Vietnam’s securities market as it aims for market upgrade. Amid increasing demands for market participants’ reform, BIDV continues to play an active and pioneering role in policy consultation toward policymakers and system modernization to better facilitate investors. As of May 2025, being the Settlement bank for the underlying market, BIDV has deployed upgraded  applications which fulfilled all technical and operational requirements to successfully integrate with the KRX securities system—strengthening its position as a key institution in Vietnam’s capital market.

BIDV has always stood as the preferred custodian and asset supervisor for domestic and international institutional clients, offering full-service solutions for all types of investment funds and entrusted portfolios. As of December 31, 2024, BIDV held the largest market share among local custodian banks in both client numbers and asset under custody —managing approximately VND 660 trillion (approx.
