BIDV receives the “SME Bank of the Year – Vietnam” award for the 7th time

Asian Banking and Finance (ABF) awarded “SME Bank of the Year – Vietnam” title to Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam on 4 July 2024 in Singapore. Receiving this prestigious award for the 7th consecutive year affirms BIDV’s exceptional efforts and achievements in fostering mutual development with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Vietnam.

Through strategic policies and relentless efforts, BIDV’s SME Banking has recently achieved notable success, including maintaining the steady position as the leading SME bank in Vietnam with the largest customer base and highest SME loan balance... Such great achievements have been attributed to BIDV’s impressive transformation.

 

Actively support SMEs for mutual development

Building on its commitment to the business community, BIDV has introduced credit packages totaling nearly VND 500 trillion since the start of 2024. These packages come with competitive interest rates, offering up to 2% per year below standard rates, to support enterprises in their growth and expansion. Previously, BIDV was also the first bank in the market to provide comprehensive financial solutions in supply chain financing to promptly meet the needs of enterprises in various sectors such as animal feed, food, building materials, telecommunications, chemicals, automobiles/electronics, pharmaceuticals, etc.

BIDV is currently a strategic partner of the Enterprise Development Agency (Ministry of Planning and Investment), Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Council... At the same time, BIDV also actively participates in the activities of the international organization for women-owned small and medium-sized enterprises of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP), SheMeansBusiness of Facebook, ITC’s SheTrades, and USAID-funded LinkSME project...

Promote the development of digital banking ecosystem

BIDV is continuously dedicated to advancing its digital banking system to enhance customer experience. In particular, SMEasy Digital Platform (https://smeasy.bidv.com.vn) has been launched to offer comprehensive support to customers with both financial and non-financial solutions; additionally, an Open API system has been implemented to seamlessly integrate banking services into customers’ applications, software, and digital platforms; BIDV iBank e-banking application has been developed to provide a diverse online banking service ecosystem,...

BIDV is also at the forefront of implementing cashless payment services for SMEs, with a strong focus on public administrative services. To date, BIDV has relationships with more than 40,000 administrative and business customers, including more than 1,000 public health units, 11,570 schools and utility service providers, and more than 8,600 trade unions at all levels...

Pioneer in promoting sustainable development

“Towards sustainable development” has been a core objective for BIDV across all operations, making green credit and green financing central to the bank’s development strategy. Currently, BIDV has issued 03 green financing frameworks including: Environmental and social risk management framework applied to international loans; Sustainable loan framework; and Green bond framework. Thereby, BIDV establishes the fundamental foundations for credit granting, deposit and risk management in sustainable financial operations at the bank. As of 31 March 2024, BIDV has  provided loans to nearly 1,700 customers, supporting approximately 2,100 green projects and plans. The bank's green credit balance has reached VND 73,400 billion, accounting for 11.5% of the total green credit balance across the entire economy.

BIDV’s outstanding achievements in SME Banking have been recognized and honored by domestic and international organizations. In addition to the “SME Bank of the Year – Vietnam” award for the 7th consecutive time from ABF, BIDV was also honored with the following titles: Best SME Bank in Southeast Asia and Best Corporate Bank in Southeast Asia (Global Banking & Finance Review), “Vietnam Domestic FDI Bank of the Year” (ABF), “Vietnam’s Best Bank for Digital Solutions” (Asiamoney), “Top 10 sustainable enterprises in commercial and services” (VCCI)...

Asian Banking and Finance (ABF) is a financial magazine headquartered in Singapore. The “SME Bank of the Year – Vietnam award” is given to BIDV under the ABF Wholesale Banking Awards 2024 series (exclusively for wholesale banking sector), evaluated by experts from world-leading auditing companies/consulting firms such as PwC, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG. ABF’s Senior Advisory Council approved and awarded BIDV after analyzing and evaluating the bank's business indicators and commitments to SME segment compared to other banks.
