No.07/2015: BIDV and Nanto Bank sign banking agreement

BIDV and Nanto Bank (Japan) on 4 February 2015 officially signed a cooperation agreement on provision of banking services and products to Japanese firms doing business in Vietnam. This is the 19th bank signing agreement with BIDV in this field.

Accordingly, the two banks will cooperate to meet the various needs of customers on banking products and services ranging from account opening and management, deposits, credit and guarantee to domestic and international payment, currency trading, derivatives, and more. In addition, the two banks also coordinate to provide information and give advice to customers on business and investment climate in Vietnam, and Vietnam’s laws on foreign investment in banking and finance, business matching, etc. Following this agreement, on 6 February 2015, the two banks signed a secondment agreement in which Nanto Bank will send one Japanese officer to work at Japan Desk at BIDV to bolster support to the Nanto Bank’s customers in Vietnam.

According to Nanto Bank’s annual report, total assets of the bank as of 31 March 2014 stood at 5,187.2 billion Yen or USD50.4 billion. The bank is rated as “A” long-term issuer by Japan Credit Rating Agency (JCR). Nanto Bank is headquartered in Nara province, southern Japan.
