No.69/2015: BIDV’s H1-2015 results and changes in FTSE and Market Vectors Vietnam (V.N.M) ETF indices

BIDV’s business performance in the first half of 2015 BIDV has achieved positive business results in the first six months of this year, laying solid foundations to fulfill the bank’s 2015 plan as well as the objectives of the Restructuring Scheme.

 

​BIDV is one of the largest banks in Vietnam in terms of total assets with VND725 trillion, up 25.3% year-on-year and 11.53% year to date. The bank’s total outstanding loans stood at VND518 trillion, up 30.4% year on year and 16.3% year to date.

The bank’s credit quality was well controlled with non-performing loan ratio at 2.7%. Deposits continued to report good and sustainable growth and other operational indicators were ensured. Accordingly, customers deposits reached VND531 trillion, up 37.7% year-on-year and 20.68% year to date. Retail banking continued to be boosted and innovated, cementing the bank’s position as the Best Retail Bank in Vietnam 2015 – the award honored by Asian Banker Magazine.

BIDV’s business operations were stable with pre-tax profit in the first half at VND3,117 billion, a 27% year-on-year increase.

BIDV’s market share is strengthened. Credit market share reached 12.7% (up 1.1% against 2014), deposit market share accounted for 11.6% (up 1.3% against 2014). With the outstanding business result, BIDV was highly recognized by the market. BIDV stock (HOSE: BID) rose sharply, becoming the stock with top transaction volumes on the market.

Changes in FTSE, V.N.M. indices

Recently, BID price has moved significantly when leading index providers adjusted their portfolios. BIDV commented that these changes were short-term and in the coming time, BID stock will continue moving in bullish way thanks to the bank’s positive business results. BIDV plans to fulfill its business plan which has been approved by the bank’s annual general shareholders meeting and ensure the best interests of its shareholders.
