BIDV announces a contribution of VND26 billion to support people affected by drought and salinity intrusion in the Mekong Delta

On the occasion of BIDV’s 63rd Anniversary (26 April 1957 – 26 April 2020), the bank has officially announced the “Water for a green life” charity program for 5 provinces in the Mekong Delta, with an expected contribution of VND26 billion.

The program is implemented from 26 April 2020 to 12 May 2020 with the desire to connect the bank’s  customers to support the people in the areas hit by the drought and saltwater intrusion. Accordingly, for every transfer on BIDV SmartBanking (except for transferring between one’s own accounts), BIDV will donate VND5,000 from the bank’s fund to provide water tanks and water filters to the people in Long An, Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Kien Giang and Ca Mau – the 5 provinces which has declared a state of emergency on drought and salinity intrusion.

The outcome of the program is expectedly 13,300 water tanks and 39 water filters for 39 resident areas. BIDV is looking forward to the support of customers, helping reducing the difficulties of the people affected by the drought.

Also on the occasion of its 63rd Anniversary, BIDV has started a campaign called “63,000 hashtag Green” to spread the message and interest of the community toward the environment by posting pictures and videos on “Live Green” on Facebook. The content could be about the nature, the environment, recycle ideas or exercise activities. This is one of the social security activities of BIDV in 2020 towards sustainable development.
