BIDV presents 5,000 lifesaver backpacks to students in 10 localities in 2020

Entering school year 2020-2021, BIDV has presented 5,000 lifesaver backpacks with a total value of nearly VND1 billion to students in 10 localities, including Yen Bai, Da Nang, Thai Binh, Bac Giang, Binh Phuoc, Binh Thuan, Hai Phong, Dong Thap, Quang Ninh, and Nam Dinh.

On 5 September 2020, BIDV - in collaboration with Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, presented the backpacks to students of Yen Thanh Ethnic minority semi-boarding school in Yen Binh District, Yen Bai Province; Hong Phong Primary School in Vu Thu District, Thai Binh Province; and Tien Thang Primary School in Yen The District, Bac Giang Province. Each locality was given 500 lifesaver backpacks. Mr. Nguyen Duc Nghi - Vice Chairman of BIDV Trade Union - said: “The value of this backpack is its practical use for students. On their trip to school, this backpack will be a company to them, also a life-saver in case there is a flood. This gift represents the responsibility of BIDV toward the community”.

Giving lifesaver backpacks to students in river areas, BIDV’s motivation is to  reduce the risk of drowning in students communing to schools. So far, BIDV has presented a total of 45,600 lifesaver backpacks of more than VND9 billion to students in over 50 localities nationwide. For many years, BIDV has sponsored hundreds of billions of VND for education programs such as scholarships, school constructions, teaching and learning equipment, etc.
