On 7th August 2015, in the framework of Appreciation events on the occasion of 20 years integrating into global financial markets of Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV), BIDV and ANZ Bank (Vietnam) Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Comprehensive Cooperation (MOU). The Signing Ceremony was conducted with the witness of senior executive leaders of the two parties and the presence of domestic and international media.

The MOU shows strong commitments of the two banks to implement prioritized cooperation in banking products and services in which the two banks possess expertise, namely bank-to-bank loans; interbank market, foreign exchange, capital markets and derivatives products; international payment and trade finance; project finance and syndication; bond issuance and fund raising advisory service; introducing investment opportunities in Vietnam to Australia and New Zealand investors; cooperation between overseas offices of ANZ and BIDV; training and experience sharing, etc.

Speaking at the signing ceremony Mr. Tran Bac Ha, Chairman of the BOD of BIDV said, “With each party’s strength, BIDV strongly believes that the promotion of bilateral cooperation through signing the MOU will prove the commitment to working together for development, which will bring valuable opportunities and continuous improvement of banking-finance products and services catering to customers of each party. Together, the two parties will build up our sustainable development, which will contribute to the development of each party in the long run.”

Mr. Dennis Hussey, CEO of ANZ Vietnam said “The MOU signing with BIDV marks an important milestone in the relationship between the two banks and at the same time shows ANZ’s long term commitment with the Vietnam market. With our network and super regional strategy, focusing on the Asia Pacific as well as our local insights and industry knowledge, ANZ would like to further support enterprises and banks in Vietnam and the region, contributing to the development of the Vietnamese economy. We have confidence in such positive values this cooperation will bring about when our partner is BIDV.”
