No.12/2011: BIDV continues to lower lending rate for the third time

To support, share with the enterprises in approaching the bank loan at reasonable cost, ensure to stabilize the production and business early, implement the guidance of the Governor the State Bank of Vietnam on the solutions to reduce gradually the interest rate floor in order to constrain inflation, stabilize the macro-economy, ensure the social security under the Resolution 11/NQ-CP of the Government dated 24/2/2011 and Directive No. 02/2011/CT-NHNN dated 7/9/2011 of the State Bank, the Bank for Investment and Development of (BIDV) notifies that it shall continue to lower the loan interest rate in VND from 20/10/2011, with the reduction level from 1.0%-2.0%/year compared to 18%-19.0%/current year. This is the 3rd consecutive reduction within 2 months of BIDV, specifically as follows:

1. For normal loan: Maximum not exceeding 17.0%/year (reduce 1.0%-2.0%/year compared to 18%-19.0%/current year).

2. For some preferential subjects: Maximum not exceeding 15.0%-16.0%/year (reduce 1.0%-2.0%/year compared to 17%/current year), specifically:

Loan financing exports: Maximum 15.7%/year, reduce 1.3%/year compared to the present. Apply for the customers who are the enterprises with credit ranking A and over, have high export turnover through BIDV and commit to resell foreign currency to BIDV.

Loan to agriculture and rural development, small and medium-sized enterprises: Maximum 16.0%/year, reduce 1.0%/year compared to the present. Apply for the customers who use the enclosed services at BIDV and have no overdue debt from 365 days (1 year) and over.

For flood recovery loan: Maximum 15.0%/year, reduce 2.0%/year compared to the preference level. Apply for the customers who have credit relations at BIDV, make sure to recover debt in full and on schedule.

3. For borrowers at the agreed interest rate: securities business loan, consumer loan:

Short-term loan rate: approximately 18.5%/year (reduce 0.5% compared to the present level of 19%/year.

Medium and long-term loan rate: approximately 19.0%/year (reduce 0.5%/year) (apply the floating rate, in the principle equal to savings rate of 12 months plus (+) at least 4.0%/ year.

Mr. Pham Duc An – Deputy General Director of BIDV, said that: “BIDV shall make specific plan for disbursement attaching to each locality, branch and each customer on the basis of checking the necessary list for preference in capital support. At the same time, with the target to jointly share with the customers, from now to the end of the year when the conditions allow, BIDV shall consider to further reduce the interest rate for the 4th time/2011”.

Earlier, in order to share the difficulties with the enterprises in particular and the economy in general, with the practical activity to implement the Resolution 11/NQ-CP of the Government, in the middle of August 2011, BIDV reduced the loan interest rate in VND for the first time at the interest rate of 20%/year. Then, from 7/9/2011, BIDV continued to adjust the reduction of interest rate for the second time at the reduction level from 1.5%-2.0%/year compared to the general interest rate in the market, to the interest rate under 18%-19%/year. This is the 3rd consecutive time within 2 months, BIDV reduced the loan interest rate.
