Hanoi, 17 May - BIDV announced the funding of over VND3 billion to Vietnam National University (VNU) for the latter’s science researches.

This is one of the activities that realize the comprehensive cooperation agreement signed between BIDV and VNU, aiming to implement effectively training, scientific research, technological development and providing financial and banking services to service the university in particular and the education and training of the society.

The VNU’s proposed topics were funded by BIDV for meeting the following criteria: the novelty of the themes; clear targets and content and suitable methodology; ability and experience of the researchers and the feasibility as well as economic significance of the topics.

Two out of the four topics are in the healthcare sector which is the target of BIDV’s CSR activities over the years, particularly BIDV has been accompanied the program on raising public awareness of the thalassemia. In addition, the applied researches in building and developing new rural models also draw the interest of and funding from BIDV to provide solutions to sustainable handicraft village development to create a sustainable livelihood for handicraft village community.

In recent years, BIDV has built comprehensive partnership with nearly 200 training and academic facilities and universities throughout the country.

In the past two years, the bank – university connecting program implemented by BIDV and VNU with a view to collecting exam registration fees has contributed to saving cost and time for university applicants.
