ActionsNo.67/2014: BIDV organizes a conference on International banking profession in Myanmar
The conference contains 35 representatives including directors of relevant General Administration of the Central Bank of Myanmar and experts, officials who work in international banking profession from 15 leading commercial banks in Myanmar. For BIDV’s side, there were Mr. Quach Hung Hiep – Deputy President of BIDV, Head of BIDV’s representative office in Myanmar and other BIDV’s leading experts on international banking and commercial loan – who have experience from 12 years to 20 years and be awarded Certified Documentary Credit Specialist (CDCS) by International Financial Services Association - IFSA / IFS School of Finance in cooperation with International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).
On the background and trend of international economic integration that is wide and specific day by day, international banking profession more and more plays an important role in transaction business and benefits of each bank. Therefore, the conference focus on exchanging and sharing experiences, international common practice and last updated information of international payment methods, risks in international commerce, and materials of URC522, UCP600 and ISBP745… published by International Chamber of Commerce and ICC Banking Commission. Those subjects are specially concerned by commercial banks of Myanmar recently.
Representatives from the Central bank and other commercial banks of Myanmar evaluated highly content, quality and BIDV’s profession in organizing the conference. BIDV also wants similar events to be organized regularly and frequently, thereby contribution to more strengthening relations between the two countries in general and between commercial banks in the two countries in particular.
Information and activities of BIDV in Myanmar

In 2014, BIDV is the continuously 18th time of international audit, 8th time of being ranked by the international credit rating organization Moody’s, and 4th time of being ranked by the international rating organization Standard and Poor’s. The results indicate that BIDV’s business are public, transparency, secure and toward common practice. The confidence indices are continuously maintained “stable” outlook.
With its role of a leading financial institution in Vietnam, BIDV has developed not only domestic transaction business but also being in the vanguard of promotion of investment activities abroad, thereby enhancing its transaction business in the international market and reputation, affirming its capacity and image, as well as contribution to that the bank is concomitant and support effectively international and domestic enterprises. That organization of this conference on International banking profession in Yangon is a part of BIDV’s general commitment framework for supporting bank system development of Myanmar and more promoting cooperation in economy, commerce and investment of enterprises in the both Myanmar and Vietnam. Accordingly, as the first commercial bank of Vietnam opening a representative office in Myanmar in 2010 and the chairman of Association of Vietnamese Investors in Myanmar (AVIM), in last years BIDV has had many active activities of developing through and effective payment procedure; promoting investment and providing banking service package for Vietnamese Investors in Myanmar; developing correspondent banks and implementing technical support programmes, sharing experience, training banking and IT profession for banks in Myanmar, especially implementing activities of social security with sponsorship and donation total of USD 2 millions from BIDV and other enterprises…
