Hanoi, 5 July 2016 – The Vietnam’s central province of Thua Thien Hue and the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam JSC (BIDV) organized a dialogue on introducing tourism potential of the province to investors, a preparation for the upcoming investment promotion and tourism development conference which will be held in the province.

​Located in the key economic region in Central Vietnam, the gateway of the east-west economic corridor, Thua Thien Hue has diverse and rich natural terrain with famous scenic spots such as the Gulf of Lang Co, Bach Ma National Park, and UNESCO-recognized heritage sites including the Imperical City of Hue and other historical and cultural relicsand more than 500 festivals.

The province has issued the list of projects calling for investment for the period 2016-2020 including 30 projects on trade, tourism, processing industry, infrastructure investment, etc. with total investment of around VND70 trillion. Many key large-scale projects of high feasibility in the tourism sector include hotel construction, seaside resorts, golf courses, An Van Duong urban area, Chan May-Lang Co economic zone.

Acting as a bridge connecting Thua Thien Hue province with investors, BIDV gave proposals to the province on improving the quality and efficiency of investment; adjusting the planning to match with Vietnam’s deeper integration into the world economy; raising awareness about sustainable tourism and diversification of tourism products; reforming administrative procedures regarding investment attraction and exports, immigration, land, tax, construction, transportation.

BIDV said it would consider to provide loans totaling VND5,000 billion to support the province’s socio-economic development in the period 2016-2020, focusing on potential areas such as tourism, infrastructure and high-tech agriculture.

The Investment Promotion and Tourism Development in Thua Thien Hue is scheduled for 8 August 2016 in Hue City.

This will be the first time the province has coordinated with BIDV to organize a large-sacle investment and tourism promotion conference with the participation of leaders of the State, Government and Ministries, economic experts, investors both local and international and media. The conference is an opportunity for the province to listen to and receive inputs and recommendations from the experts and investors to issue policies to better support investors and businesses.
