No.37/2016: BIDV sponsors Red Journey 2016

On 5 July 2016, the national blood donation program “Red Journey 2016” was officially launched in Phu Quoc island in Kien Giang province, starting the series of journeys in 27 provinces and cities from South to North. The program targets the donation of 20,000 units of blood to serve the needs of the people's health care.

This is the 3rd consecutive year BIDV has accompanied on this charity program.

The Red Journey 2016 aims to advocate for voluntary blood donation; mobilize and receive blood to meet for treatment in localities, contributing to address the shortage of blood. It also spreads information on the congenital hemolytic anemia to the community and educates the young generation on the solidarity and responsibility for the community.

Given the humanitarian significance of the program, BIDV continued to accompany with the message “BIDV – sharing the Vietnamese blood”. On the Red Journey in each province, BIDV branches will join in communicating and promoting the program to the public and customers. Especially, BIDV trade unions will hold blood donation campaigns across BIDV system before, during and after the Journey, starting 5 July 2016.

Over the 2 years 2014 and 2015, BIDV staff have contributed thousands of units of blood.

BIDV has been also implementing other humanitarian community programs such as “Bringing music to hospital”, funding the construction of clinics and purchase of medical equipment and ambulances for hospitals, congenital heart surgery for children, eye exams for the elderly, houses for the poor, and new schools for students in remote areas.
