Hanoi, September 30, 2015 – Vietnam Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) and prestigious global magazine Euromoney officially held "Vietnam Global Investment Forum" with BIDV being the main sponsor. Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung attended and delivered a key speech at the forum. Mr. Tran Phuong, senior executive vice president of BIDV participated as a speaker at the fourth session - SOE Equitisation and Privatisation.

 

​The Euromoney’s forum was held in Vietnam in 2007. After years of absence, Vietnam Ministry of Planning and Investment and Euromoney this year co-organized the forum with the participation of hundreds of entrepreneurs, leading economists locally and regionally.

Also at the forum, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung delivered an important speech, attracting the attraction of the participants. The PM highlighted the picture of Vietnam economy in the past 5 years and the country’s achievements in the 2011-2015 period. Vietnam is amongst few countries that have maintained high growth during the period.

The forum consists of 8 main discussion sessions under 8 major topics of Vietnam's economy, including general economic outlook, foreign investment attraction, banking system reform and capital market, SOE equitisation, real estate market development and agriculture development.

As the main sponsor, BIDV joined Euromoney to bring opportunities to and accompany local and foreign investors and businessmen to learn about Vietnam's economy, potential and opportunities for economic development in Vietnam, contributing to building a strong and prosperous Vietnam.

Addressing the forum, BIDV representative shared the bank’s experience in equitisation and restructuring of state-owned enterprises; the necessity and role of foreign investors in improving the competitive capacity for enterprises.

At the forum, BIDV had a booth to showcase its achievements and introduce information about its size, orientations and services.
