On October 30th 2014, in Hong Kong, Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) was honorably awarded “House of the year, Vietnam” by Asia Risk Magazine. The award is for the bank with the best service of derivatives and risk management in Vietnam. BIDV is honoured to be the only awardee in Vietnam and awarded for three continuous times. Asia Risk Awards are the prestige awards of Asia Risk Magazine for financial institutions providing derivatives in Asia – Pacific area.

The award is presented annually by Asia Risk Magazine for recognizing achievements and innovations in derivatives and risk management of financial institutions in Asia-Pacific area, in which House of the year Award for each country is selected among domestic banks, and global or regional bank branches in the country with the best efforts and achievements in derivatives and risk management, including achievements of improving system and standards of internal risk management, and applying international rules of risk management in last full year. This prestige award attracts participation of a lot of globally well-known financial institutions as well as leading regional banks.

​BIDV has provided derivatives since 2006 and is a pioneer in derivatives of risk prevention of exchange rate, interests, merchandise, etc. in Vietnam.

Since BIDV has kicked off derivatives market, it has developed about 20 derivatives including financial and merchandise services provided to enterprises and individual businesses in many areas of agriculture, maritime, mine and manufacturers with transaction value of USD 2.2 billion from 2007 to now. Derivatives provided by BIDV contributes to that enterprises plan proactively their business, limit risks and stabilize business.

That BIDV’s three continuous times of being awarded express its contribution to study and delivery of derivatives in Vietnam in last few years. BIDV was Asia Risk Award 2012 and 2013 winners.

As the pioneer in the market, BIDV is a country leader in raising knowledge of market to enterprises, providing effective tools to enterprises for significant integration into the world economy.
