On 3 November 2014 in Hanoi, Ministry of Education and Training cooperated with Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV), Vietjet Airline and Vietnam Television in organization of “Citing ceremony of students for being awarded International Olympiad and attainment of the highest score at university entrance exam 2014”.

Programme of  “Citing ceremony of students for being awarded International Olympiad and attainment of the highest score at university entrance exam 2014” is organized to cite attainment that students achieved in International Olympiads and the university entrance exam 2014; thereby encouraging pupils, students, youth in striving, studying and practising, contributing to development of high quality human resource for serving the country as well as continuously enhancing traditional fondness for learning of Vietnamese people for thousands years. This is also an opportunity for the youth to raise awareness of the country’s sovereignty and consolidate their pride and deeply love of the country’s islands. Besides, this year the programme also recognizes contribution of teachers and students’ parent to the selection, training and coaching. “Citing ceremony of students for being awarded International Olympiad and attainment of the highest score at university entrance exam” is annually organized by Ministry of Education and Training in cooperation with BIDV and Vietjet.

This year, total of students awarded at the citing ceremony is 50, 35 of which were awarded International Olympiad, 05 of which were awarded sciences and engineering Prize and 10 of which attained the highest score at the university entrance exam 2014.

As planned, the programme took place in 03 days, from November 01st 2014 to November 03rd 2014 in Hai Phong and Hanoi, containing following major parts:

-  Exchange of “We love our country’s islands” in High Command of Naval (Hai Phong) in the evening of November 01st 2014.

- Incense offering to the remembering zone at non-number wharf K15, Do Son and visiting Hai Phong Naval Museum in the morning of November 02nd 2014.

- In the afternoon of November 02nd 2014, the delegation visited Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Ms. Nguyen Thi Doan at the Presidency Palace for reporting achievement and listening to the Vice President’s recommendations and encouragement.

- Incense offering and achievement-reporting to Uncle Ho at No.67 House and watching a video of the last time of President Ho Chi Minh at a remembering room in the Presidency palace in the morning of November 03rd 2014.

- Citing ceremony of students for being awarded International Olympiad and attainment of the highest score at university entrance exam 2014 was directly broadcasted at 20:00 on November 03rd 2014 on VTV2 channel of Vietnam Television. The ceremony consisted of Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan – a member of Politburo – The President of Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front , leaders of ministries, offices, local authorities, Education and Training Departments, universities and high schools where the awarded students reside; the teachers who guided and organized delegations of students to international competitions.

At the ceremony, 11 students who were awarded International Olympiad golden medals received the Prime Minister’s merit lists, and the others following received the Ministry of Education and Training’s merit lists: 24 students who awarded silver and bronze medals, merit lists of International and regional Olympiad competitions,  05 pupils who were the fourth-grade award of Intel Isef international science and engineering prize 2014, and 10 students who attained 27 score and more at the university entrance examination.  Moreover, Ministry of Education and Training decided to award merit lists to 20 officials, teachers who have achievement of training and guiding national teams to participate International and regional Olympiad 2014, and total of VND 400 million to the students.

Furthermore, the students and teachers also received awards and gifts of BIDV, Vietjet and Vietnam Oil and Gas Group. Accordingly, BIDV awarded 01 BIDV Master Card of VND 10 million and full scholarship of studying full time in a Vietnamese public university to each of the 50 students; 01 BIDV Master Card of VND 05 million to each of the 20 teacher. Vietnam Oil and Gas Group awarded total of VND 140 million to the students who attained international Olympiad awards.
