BIDV Accompanies the Vietnam Annual Finance Forum 2025 in Da Nang

Da Nang, August 28, 2025 – Within the framework of the Vietnam Annual Finance Forum 2025, part of Da Nang Finance and Technology Week 2025, the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) proudly co-hosted the thematic session “Green Finance and Sustainable Development” – one of the highlights of this year’s forum.

A Hub for Connection and Growth

Organized under the auspices of the People’s Committee of Da Nang City, Finance and Technology Week served as a premier platform bringing together regulators, experts, institutions, enterprises, and investors from Vietnam and abroad. The program aimed to strengthen Vietnam’s positioning as an international financial center on the Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI), while fostering blockchain applications, advancing the semiconductor industry, and showcasing Da Nang’s cooperation and investment potential.

As part of the forum, BIDV joined hands with the Da Nang People’s Committee to convene the thematic session “Green Finance and Sustainable Development”, with the focus “Da Nang – A Destination for Green Finance Initiatives”. The session was highly regarded for contributing to strategic dialogues on positioning Da Nang as an international financial hub aligned with the vision of green growth.

BIDV’s Insights on Green Finance Trends

Mr, Tran Long – Senior Executive Vice President of BIDV delivered a speech at the forum.

At the session, Mr. Tran Long – Senior Executive Vice President of BIDV – delivered a keynote presentation on “Development Finance – A Pillar for Sustainable Growth”. His address provided updates on global trends, highlighted recent policy directions in Vietnam, and reaffirmed the pivotal role of development finance in driving sustainability. Importantly, he emphasized BIDV’s unwavering commitment to supporting Da Nang and the business community on their sustainable development journey.

The session attracted the participation of leading international organizations including the World Bank, IFC, GGGI, GIZ, DZ Bank, and JBIC. Discussions centered on mobilizing resources, promoting public–private partnerships, and sharing international best practices in green finance.

Strengthening Strategic Partnership with Da Nang City

At the event, BIDV also showcased its advanced digital banking solutions and green finance offerings, with BIDV Direct – a new digital banking platform for institutional clients – taking center stage. Earlier, on May 23, 2025, BIDV and the Da Nang People’s Committee signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the development of fintech solutions for the Da Nang Free Trade Zone. This MoU marked the beginning of a comprehensive partnership, aimed at supporting Da Nang in becoming a high-quality commercial and financial hub, creating spillover effects across Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands, while serving as a key gateway to the East–West Economic Corridor, the Asia–Pacific region, and the world.

BIDV’s participation and co-organization of the forum reaffirm its pioneering role in advancing green and sustainable finance, as well as the Bank’s determination to accompany Vietnam in realizing its national green growth and sustainable development goals.
