BIDV donates VND10 billion to fight Covid-19

On 17 March 2020, in response to the Prime Minister’s call for public support to fight Covid-19 epidemic, BIDV donated VND10 billion under the witness of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. Also at the campaign, Vietnamese commercial banks donated the total of VND140 billion to support the fight against Covid-19.

Addressing the ceremony, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc praised and acknowledged the timely response and support of enterprises in fighting Covid-19. These practical actions have contributed to reducing the risk of epidemic spreading and overcoming the negative socio-economic impacts. The Prime Minister states that Vietnam has sufficient capacity, resources, will and experience to deal with the disease. The Party and State always place top importance and priority on public health. He firmly believes that Vietnam will succeed in the fight by applying all measures and initiatives to protect public health and resume normal life for people, as well as striving to realize the national socioeconomic development targets.

Besides financial donation of VND10 billion, BIDV had earlier launched multiple credit packages to support customers cope with the impacts of Covid-19. Particularly, BIDV offered a credit package to support the fight against coronavirus  worth VND20,000 billion and USD100 million for corporate customers and a credit package worth VND5000 billion (USD220 million) for individual customers. Furthermore, BIDV also introduced many promotions to encourage customers switch to online transactions in order to limit the spread of Covid-19.
