On the evening of 8 August 2023, the first Banking Sports Festival 2023 started. BIDV Sports team participating this Festival consist of outstanding athletes from sports activities at BIDV and were carefully selected through BIDV Sports Day in 2022.

Participating in the Festival, 136 athletes of BIDV Sports Team will compete in all 6 categories of sports, including table tennis, badminton, tennis, chess, marathon, and men’s/women’s football. On the first athletics competition day, runner Nguyen Manh Cuong of BIDV’s Team excellently won the men’s gold medal for 1,500m race in a time of 4 minutes and 31 seconds.

The 1st Banking Sports Festival is organized to celebrate the 7th Congress of Vietnam Banking Trade Union, the 13th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union and the 30th anniversary of the Vietnam Banking Trade Union. The Festival aims to introduce and promote the image, brand, and cultural beauty of banking units and credit institutions to the whole society, with the message: “For the development of the banking sector and the prosperity of Vietnam”.

Previously, on 7 August 2023, BIDV held a Departure Ceremony for the BIDV Sports Team to attend the Festival. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Tran Xuan Hoang - Standing Deputy Secretary of BIDV’s Party Committee and Board Member, Mr. Tran Phuong – Senior Executive Vice President, Chairman of BIDV’s Trade Union, and leaders of units at Head Office and branches.

Speaking at the Departure Ceremony, representatives of BIDV’s Party Committee, Management and Trade Union acknowledged the efforts of the Organizing Committee and the athletes. At the same time, the athletes are expected to maximize their potential, strengths and noble sportsmanship to do their best for BIDV’s spirit and brand, and for the overall success of the Festival...
