VALC delivers the first A321-200 to Vietnam Airlines

On 22 August, 2012, Vietnam Aircraft Leasing Company (VALC) has taken delivery of the first A321-200 aircraft under a ten (10) A321-200 purchase agreement between VALC and Airbus S.A.S. at Airbus’ Assembly Facility in Hamburg (Germany).

 

 

After receiving the plane, VALC transferred it to the Vietnam Airlines Company Limited following their operating lease agreement.

The delivery ceremony in Hamburg also witnessed the participation of The Ministry of Finance, The State Bank of Vietnam, The Civil Aviation Authorization of Vietnam, The Export Credit Agency of Germany (Euler Hermes Deutschland-AG), and representatives of VALC’s founding shareholders such as Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV), Vietnam Airlines Company Limited, PetroVietnam Finance Corporation, VinaCapital and the various financial institutions funding VALC’s A321-200 project including Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), Bank of Tokyo – Mitsubishi UFJ (BTMU), KfW Ipex – Bank GmbH (KfW), Landesbank Hessen – Thuringen Girozentrale (Helaba), AKA Export Finance Bank (AKA)..

A321-200 is a state-of-the-art medium-range aircraft and also one of commercial airplane series operated in many countries all over the world. Beside the project of 10 A321-200s, VALC has successfully delivered 05 ATR-72s to Vietnam Airlines in 2010 and 01 helicopter EC155-B1 to The Northern Service Flight Company in 2011.

The successful delivery of the first A321-200 to Vietnam Airlines is an important event of the VALC’s business, contributing to the national fleet development as directed by the Prime Minister and also marking a milestone in its growing in the international aircraft leasing market.
