On April 23rd 2012, the Governor of the State Bank (NHNN) issued License No. 84/GP-NHNN on the establishment and operation of the Joint-Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam.

Accordingly the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam was established on the basis of equalization, and converting the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam with 100% capital of the State with full name in English being: Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam ( BIDV).

BIDV has headquarters addressed at: BIDV Tower, 35 Hang Voi, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi, Vietnam; representation under the law is an Executive Council Chairman.

BIDV was founded under the form of joint-stock company, having legal entity, own seals according to law of Vietnam.

BIDV has charter capital of VND 23,011,705,420,000 and operation duration is 99 years from the date of granting licenses to set up and operate.

The main activity contents of BIDV including: Getting demand deposits, term deposits, savings deposits and other deposit types; Issuing certificates of deposit, Bill of exchange, bonds, granting credit; Opening account for customers or providing means of payment; provision of payment services; funding capital of State Bank in the form of refinancing as defined by the State Bank Law in Vietnam, the capital banks, financial institutions in the country and abroad according to law; Opening account deposits at State Bank, payment accounts in other banks and opening a deposit account, account paid abroad according to law on foreign exchange, organizing and participating in payment systems, contributing capital, buying shares, participating in bidding for treasury bills, buy and sell negotiable instruments, government bonds, treasury bills, State Bank bills and other value papers in the money market, doing business and providing the services  of foreign exchange and forex derivatives; Escrow, consignee, agents in the field related to banking, doing business in insurance, asset management as defined by State bank; The other business activities of commercial banks.

During its whole operation, BIDV must comply with Vietnam Law.

Business Certificate of BIDV takes effect from signing date.

Same day, SBV Governor with the written document No 2454/NHNN-TTGSNH confirmed to the State Bank of Vietnam that BIDV has registered its Charter of organization and operation(attached Doc No252/TTr-HDQT dated15 March 2012 by BIDV.)
