Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung visited BIDV Thanh Hoa

On 26/1/2013, in the working program in Thanh Hoa province, Mr. Nguyen Tan Dung - Member of the Politburo, Prime Minister - visited and encouraged staff of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) - Thanh Hoa province branch. This is the honor and pride and the great source of encouragement for BIDV Thanh Hoa as well as the entire BIDV system in particular.

The visit by the Prime Minister was accompanied by the following persons: Mr. Nguyen Bac Son - Minister of Information and Communication, Mr. Vu Huy Hoang - Minister of Industry and Trade; Mr. Trinh Dinh Dung - Minister of Construction; Mr. Dinh La Thang - Minister of Transport and the leaders of Thanh Hoa province, representatives of the Central ministries and sectors.

On behalf of the leaders and employees of the branch, the Director of BIDV Thanh Hoa reported briefly to the Prime Minister on the business result in 2012 of the branch and the contributions made by BIDV in the socioeconomic development in the locality. Concurrently, he also reported objectives and solutions to carry out business tasks in the coming time to contribute to the general success of the entire BIDV system.

Speaking at the visit, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung highly appreciated and appraised the efforts made by the entire BIDV system in general and BIDV Thanh Hoa in particular to the country development.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said that, with the results and achievements gained over the past more than 55 years, especially in 2012 when the national economy had a lot of difficulties, the achievements made by the banking sector and BIDV in general, BIDV Thanh Hoa in particular have actually made practical contributions to the country construction and development. Accordingly, it has contributed to stabilizing macroeconomics, sustainable growth, controlled inflation index, stable exchange rate, sharply reduced interest rate, increased foreign currency reserve and assured social security and welfare.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung emphasized: “In 2013, it is necessary to continue making efforts and bring into full play resources, we will face many difficulties. The Communist Party of Vietnam, the State of Vietnam and the Government of Vietnam continue to set the objective, i.e. enhancing macroeconomic stabilization, controlling high inflation, maintaining higher growth than that in 2012, fortifying economic restructuring, implementing three breakthrough steps in the spirit of the Resolution adopted by the 11th Party Congress, ensuring social security and welfare, realizing poverty reduction, solving employment, ensuring health, security and national defense”.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung also indicated that the Banking system in general and BIDV in particular should better complete the set targets and tasks. Special attention should be paid to capital mobilization, credit growth for the economy. The mobilization, lending and credit growth must be planned to make specific contribution to macroeconomic stabilization, economic growth and social security. Besides, another important task is to support and share difficulties with the enterprises. At present, the enterprises have a lot of difficulties, the bank must stand side by side with the enterprises, review customers, lend to remove difficulties and promote production development. Doing this thing well has been a specific contribution to stabilizing economic development.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung believed that with the magnanimous tradition and the gained results, the entire BIDV system in general, BIDV Thanh Hoa in particular will develop more in 2013 and the next phase, making important contribution to stabilizing and maintaining national economic growth.

Expressing gratitude and acquiring guidance and encouragement of the Prime Minister for the operation of BIDV in general, BIDV Thanh Hoa in particular, Mr. Tran Bac Ha - Chairman of the Management Board of BIDV - committed with the Prime Minister that the entire BIDV system would try its best to complete the tasks and missions entrusted by the Communist Party of Vietnam, the State of Vietnam and the Government of Vietnam, contributing to the national construction and development to have a modern, beautiful, wealthy and civilized country.
