On the occasion of the visit and working in Vietnam, on 26/8/2011, the Senior Delegation of the National Assembly of Lao People’s Democratic Republic led by Mrs. Pany YATHORTOU, Member of the Politburo, National Assembly Chairman visited the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV). On behalf of the Leadership and staff of BIDV, the Chairman of Board of Directors Tran Bac Ha expressed his sincere and deep thanks for the interest of Mrs. Pany YATHORTOU and the Senior Delegation of the National Assembly of Lao People’s Democratic Republic.

​At the reception, Mr. Tran Bac Ha made the summary report on the results of business operations and implementation of social activities for the community of BIDV in Laos. At the same time, he also reported the plans for establishment of Representative office in Laos and social security program in Laos in the coming years.

Mrs. Pany YATHORTOU expressed the pleasure for the contributions of BIDV for the two countries and thanks for the contributions and sentiment of the Leadership and staff of BIDV to the Lao people.

Mrs. Pany YATHORTOU highly appreciated the achievements obtained by BIDV in the development process. BIDV has made every effort to implement the policy of the two Parties, two Governments to invest in Laos during the difficult period. Especially, the results achieved by Lao - Viet Bank in the past 12 years and in the recent years of Lao Viet Insurance Joint Venture Company (LVI), has promoted the financial, monetary and insurance market, through that to contribute to developing the economy of Laos. In addition to the business operation, BIDV is also a leading unit in the humanitarian, social security activities in Laos, especially the support for health care, education, and poor people in remote area...

Mrs. Pany YATHORTOU proposed that BIDV with its working experience and stable financial capacity shall attract more investors to Laos in order to impulse the general development for the economy.

At the reception, Mr. Le Dao Nguyen, Member of the Board of Directors of BIDV, on behalf of the Leadership and staff of BIDV awarded 10 scholarships with total value of 50,000 USD to support for the students of H'Mông in Laos who have the excellent study results in the universities for 5 years from 2011 to 2015.
