On 1 December 2021, a strategic cooperation signing ceremony took place between BIDV and the Center for Research and Application of Residents (an unit of the National Population Data Center, Police Department for Administrative Management of Social Order, Ministry of Public Security).

Ms. Nguyen Thi Quynh Giao - Senior Executive Vice President of BIDV and Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Vinh - Director of  Center for Research and Application of Residents signed a cooperation agreement

With this cooperation agreement, BIDV is one of the first commercial banks to coordinate with the Center for Research and Application of Residents to build a roadmap to develop products and applications based on residential database and citizen IDs in banking transactions. This helps to maximize the value of the National Database on Population, citizen IDs and electronic identification and authentication.

Currently, BIDV is one of the pioneer banks in researching and successfully deploying electronic citizen IDs application on transactions at BIDV's self-service areas such as ATM, Ezone. In the coming time, we will continue to deploy citizen IDs authentication application on SmartBanking to complete and close the customer experience journey.

Chip-based citizen IDs integrate customer information which help to speed up the process of customer authentication, reduce staff working time, and eliminate the risks of forgery and errors in the operation process compared to previous method of verification checks with ordinary identity card and bring customers a fast, safe and convenient experience when banking.
