3D Secure is a new security feature for BIDV international cards, applied from October 10, 2018

1. What is 3D Secure?

3D Secure is an authentication service for international card to increase the security for cardholders when making online card transaction in website with Verified by Visa or Identify Check logo.

2. Advantages

- Online transactions with BIDV international cards are safer and more secure.

- The service is completely free and does not require registration to activate the service: the 3D Secure service will be applied by default for the cards with online payment (e-commerce) function and OTP receiving phone numbers registered with BIDV when issuing cards.

3. How does 3D Secure work?

When cardholder performs online transactions at card acceptance channels (websites/apps) with “Verified by Visa” or “Mastercard Identity Check” logo, the 3D Secure Service will check and evaluate the risk level of transactions. Depending on each case, BIDV will ask you to enter OTP number to authenticate online payment transactions.

4. How to perform transactions and use 3D Secure:

To perform transactions and use the 3D Secure service, the following conditions must be met:

- Card is valid and active

- The online payment feature (E-commerce) is active for your card

- Card payment access device is connected to the Internet

- The phone number to receive OTP is correctly registered with BIDV (for high risk transactions, BIDV will send OTP for authentication)

- The transaction information must be enter correctly onto the transaction screen.
