On 20 March 2021, the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) officially launched SmartBanking - a totally new digital banking service which integrates online platforms and replaces its previous Internet Banking and Mobile Banking services.

Combining the two current channels namely Internet Banking (BIDV Online) and Mobile Banking (BIDV SmartBanking), BIDV’s SmartBanking digital banking service offers seamless and totally new experience to customers in terms of: interface, log-in, limit, feature, utilities on different devices (PC, laptop, smartphone, tablet, etc.)

In particular, SmartBanking is the first and only digital banking service in Vietnam’s market that is integrated on smart watches (Apple Watch) and smart keyboards (allowing transactions to be conducted right on the interface of messaging apps such as Zalo, Viber, Messenger, iMessage,…)

Customers may use SmartBanking via two channels:

• - SmartBanking in app stores: means the updated version of Mobile Banking app on Appstore and Google Play Store (the name on the app stores is "BIDV Smart Banking"
• - SmartBanking via web browser: In the tab “Online Banking” on BIDV’s website or direct link: https://smartbanking.bidv.com.vn/.

SmartBanking provides digital banking experience in a completely new way:

• - One username and password only: Only 1 username (registered phone number) and 01 password is required for SmartBanking service, which can be used on different platforms including web, mobile apps, smart watches and smart keyboards. Especially, customers who are using Mobile Banking (previous version of BIDV SmartBanking) can log in to the new generation SmartBanking service using their own Fingerprint/Face ID/password installed on the previous version just by updating the app without any reinstallation.
• - Personalization and real time interface customization: You can change your background image, profile picture and arrange the priority functions at your discretion; real time interface customization in morning, afternoon, and evening. In addition, on special occasions such as your birthdays or public holidays, New Year, the system will automatically display ceremony wallpapers, next to the photos installed on your mobile.
• - Consistent transaction limit: You will have a consistent online transaction limit, up to VND1 billion/internal transaction for normal customers and VND5 billion/internal transaction for Priority Customers.
• - Security enhancement: The new generation SmartBanking inherits the security methods applied on previous versions, including: Login security, transaction security and especially Smart OTP. In addition, with Cross Login technology, when you log in on the web browser, the system will automatically send a notification to your mobile app for your authentication before allowing successful login. A range of modern and convenient security solutions is an increasing trend in banking services, helping customers rest assured when making transactions.
• - Receive transaction notifications anytime, anywhere: OTT Alert is integrated right away into the SmartBanking app, replacing SMS notification, enabling cost-savings for customers.
• - Easy performance of finance, payments and shopping transactions: With the new generation SmartBanking, you can enjoy modern and quick financial functions including: 24/7 instant money transfer, scheduled money transfer, online savings, bill payment for electricity - water - telecommunications - healthcare - education - insurance, payment of public administrative services, automatic bill payment, top-up, QR Pay, flight/hotel booking, online shopping, online charge-back, etc.

Continuous “innovation” becomes BIDV motto for service development. With a specialized version for Apple Watch, the app helps speed up any activity related to the user’s bank account without using a smartphone or computer, while account information security is still ensured.

Recently BIDV has launched the app version of BIDV SmartBanking on Smart keyboard. This is the first banking app in Vietnam that enables banking transactions even while you are chatting.
